I like accepting guest articles as a way to help games writers and critics develop their ideas and contribute to my project of transforming the way we talk about games. You can see previous guest articles here.
If you would like to have me publish a guest article of yours, you can leave a comment here (with an email or other point of contact), or contact me through my discord. Please include the basic thesis of your article (what argument you are making) or an overview of the content you want to teach.
After that, I will have you send me a draft through Google docs, and work on it collaboratively with you to ensure that it meets the editorial standards of the blog. Through this process, I hope to help writers think more critically about games and their methods for articulating ideas.
I typically publish: Game Reviews, Tutorials, Mechanical Breakdowns, Guides to Game Systems, and posts about the theory, practice, and principles of Game Design.
I don’t publish unhinged or unexamined rants on why your opinion is right and everyone else’s is wrong. I expect a certain level of rigor, and I expect you to be open to questioning your preconceptions and unspoken assumptions, or to have already done so.
